Abstract:
Health care waste collection belongs to the most
dangerous and risky jobs but it is often overlooked. Healthcare
personnel and utility maintenance staff are at risk of potential
injuries and infectious diseases when they deal with health care
waste. App-controlled Robotic Vehicle for Hospital Waste
Collection is a device that aims to aid the manual collection of
healthcare waste, lessen the potential injuries and risks, and
prevent acquiring from infectious diseases. It is designed
specifically for health care waste collection. It collects waste by
controlling the device through the desktop application.
Navigation happens through the use of an FPV camera that
provides a real-time video feed and displays it on the interface.
The device is equipped with a robotic arm to serve as a hand
substitute for grab and dump operations. It also includes an
ultrasonic humidifier for room disinfection, load cell for
weighing the collected waste, and nichrome wire for automatic
sealing of trash bag inside the device’s bin. Hence, this design
project provides contactless and safe hospital waste collection.
