Abstract:

This thesis entitled "ENHANCING MOST ESSENTIAL LEARNING COMPETENCIES IN ENGLISH THROUGH DIGITAL LITERACY SKILLS " was conducted to answer the following: Through the data presented on the Chapter 4 of the research paper, the findings has proven that there is no significant difference between the DepEd Learner’s Packet Learning Module which was used by the comparison group and the Digital Literacy-Based Learning Material which was enhanced by the researchers and used by the experimental group. Additionally, the conducted field experiment also proved the effectiveness of the MELCs (Most Essential Learning Competencies) developed, proposed, and selected by the Department of Education. However, the researchers' developed module has small effect on the learning performance of the experimental group. Conclusively, the MELC that was currently used by the field implementers around the country is considered to be of help in addressing the needs of the students in the learning phase despite the challenges and crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic by way of the implemented distance learning and the effective demonstration of teaching and learning through the utilization of digital literacy skills.
