Security Management and Procedures in Universidad De Zamboanga-Ipil: Basis for Security Management System

Abstract:

This study aimed to determine the security management and procedures in Universidad de Zamboanga-Ipil as the basis for the security management system. Specifically, it sought to answer four research questions. The first research question focused on, what is the security status of Security management practices of Universidad de Zamboanga-Ipil as perceived by the respondents in terms of security management practices, security implantation, and performance. The second research question is dealt with the significant difference in the security management practices when the data are classified according to the types of respondents. The third research question concentrated on the issues and problems encountered by the Universidad de Zamboanga-Ipil stakeholders. Finally, this study was guided by a null hypothesis tested at a .05 level of significance which states that there is no significant difference in terms of security management and procedures in Universidad de Zamboanga –Ipil as the basis for the security management system and that the null hypothesis is rejected. This study utilized the quantitative descriptive design of research employing a survey that aimed to fully recognize the security status of the security management practices of Universidad de Zamboanga- Ipil as perceived by the respondents. The respondents of the study were the faculty, non-teaching staff, students, and stakeholders. It involved 162 students, 16 faculty, 14 non-teaching staff, and 5 tenants. A total of 197 respondents. The respondents were asked to answer a questionnaire to rate the extent of the security management and procedures in Universidad de Zamboanga- Ipil as the basis for the security management system.
