Abstract:
This study was conducted to determine the level of laboratory
anxiety among Medical Technology students. It specifically
answered the following questions: 1. What is the laboratory
anxiety level among Medical Technology students in terms of:
Signs of laboratory anxiety, Handling anxiety, Performance
anxiety, Evaluation anxiety, and working with other people's
anxiety? 2. Is there a significant difference in the level of
laboratory anxiety among respondents when grouped
according to their profile? Weighted mean frequency was used
to determine the level of laboratory anxiety of Medical
Technology students of Universidad de Zamboanga. T-test or
One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to determine
the significant difference in the laboratory anxiety level among
respondents when grouped according to their profile (age
group, sex, year level, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status). The
results revealed that the level of laboratory anxiety among
Medical Technology students in terms of signs, handling,
performance, evaluation, and working with other people is at
the average. There is a significant difference in the level of
laboratory anxiety among Medical Technology students when
grouped according to their sex. However, there is no significant
difference in the level of laboratory anxiety of respondents
when grouped according to their age, ethnicity, socioeconomic
status, and year level.
