Laboratory Anxiety Level Among Medical Technology Students of Universidad De Zamboanga

Abstract:

This study was conducted to determine the level of laboratory anxiety among Medical Technology students. It specifically answered the following questions: 1. What is the laboratory anxiety level among Medical Technology students in terms of: Signs of laboratory anxiety, Handling anxiety, Performance anxiety, Evaluation anxiety, and working with other people's anxiety? 2. Is there a significant difference in the level of laboratory anxiety among respondents when grouped according to their profile? Weighted mean frequency was used to determine the level of laboratory anxiety of Medical Technology students of Universidad de Zamboanga. T-test or One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to determine the significant difference in the laboratory anxiety level among respondents when grouped according to their profile (age group, sex, year level, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status). The results revealed that the level of laboratory anxiety among Medical Technology students in terms of signs, handling, performance, evaluation, and working with other people is at the average. There is a significant difference in the level of laboratory anxiety among Medical Technology students when grouped according to their sex. However, there is no significant difference in the level of laboratory anxiety of respondents when grouped according to their age, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and year level.
