Abstract:

The Supreme Court Library is a traditional law library with the complete collection of legal and related fields for an effective, faster and wider dissemination of legal information and for an effective legal research in its decision making function. It has a collection of less than a hundred thousand volumes housed in its Main Library and its network of about 20 libraries in Supreme Court buildings in Manila, Baguio City and Tagaytay City. It is also considered as modern law library for it has embraced the latest technology of the 21st century by developing the SC E-Library which contains all the official primary sources of law which are needed by the entire Philippine Judiciary in decision making. It may be accessed online. To make sure that all the Philippine courts will have online connections, the Supreme Court in its Resolution (A.M. No. 12-6-11-SC) awarded mobile broadband sticks to the lower court and court libraries all over the Philippines. To support legal education in the Philippines, this SC E-Library is open to law schools through the request of their law librarians.
