Abstract:
Skills laboratory training is an educational intervention that helps nursing students become experts at performing clinical skills in a clinical setting, which improves their critical thinking when providing patient care. The study aimed to determine the nursing students' evaluation of the clinical skills laboratory and assess the challenges they encountered during their clinical practice when using CSL. A descriptive survey design was utilized in this study to 199 1st year and 2nd year nursing students of the University of la Salette, inc. The study revealed that respondents strongly agree that the clinical skills laboratory is an upright environment for clinical learning and practice in 4 areas (system, checklist, scheduling, and equipment and supplies). Hence, some nursing students identify minor challenges when using the CLS. It also found no significant difference in clinical learning and practice when grouped according to their demographic profile. Today, the teaching-learning process occurs through interactions between professors, students, and the institution. The nursing laboratory is crucial for students to learn about nursing and care procedures, influencing their performance in other classes and professional careers.
