Abstract:
Education, gender equality, and community engagement are essential factors in
driving sustainable development and societal progress. In the dynamic context of
Cabuyao City, understanding and addressing the evolving demands of education,
gender inclusion, and community involvement are critical. Education plays an
important role in bridging academic knowledge and practical industrial skills
(Reyes, 2022) which requires strong collaboration between universities and
industries that will lead to future innovations and solutions for complex challenges
(Biswas, 2023; World Economic Forum, 2018). It must promote a learning
environment that encourages innovation and drives technological progress. Thus,
Higher education institutions (HEIs) should produce research studies that strongly
emphasize the importance of collaborations (P?unescu et al., 2022). Aside from
research, HEIs must strengthen community-extension projects that involve
students, educators, and other stakeholders working closely together to address
local issues and contribute to community development (Rubin et al., 2024). These
projects not only provide practical and relevant learning opportunities but instill
social responsibility and civic engagement in students (Brende, 2015). Similarly,
education must ensure equal opportunities for all students regardless of gender
for them to learn and succeed (de Borja et al., 2023; UNESCO, 2023). Educational
institutions should have policies and curricula that are gender-responsive pointing
to healthier and more equitable societies (UNESCO, 2018).
