Discipline: Education

Abstract:

This study investigates the relationship between Multiple Intelligence and academic performance among Bachelor of Secondary Education students majoring in Sciences at Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology in the Philippines. Using a Descriptive Correlation Study methodology, the research aims to understand how different intelligences may impact scholastic achievement and contribute to improving the education system. The current state of education in the Philippines faces challenges, including lower student proficiency in subjects like reading literacy. By recognizing and harnessing these intelligences, it is possible to enhance learning outcomes. The findings may provide insights for improving the education system and enhancing learning experiences for students pursuing a Bachelor of Secondary Education majoring in Sciences. This research uses a Descriptive Correlation Study methodology to comprehensively describe and measure patterns and connections between variables. It is conducted at the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology, focusing on the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Sciences during the 2019- 2020 school year. The analysis reveals patterns in the relationship between Multiple Intelligence and academic achievement, but the statistical examination indicates that there is not enough evidence to establish a significant relationship in this specific context. This highlights the need for further exploration of potential mediating factors. Future studies could consider expanding the sample size, exploring additional variables, and using alternative methodologies to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the influences on students' scholastic outcomes.
