Cartomancy, or the art of divination through the use of cards, has always been considered as occult. Many associate the practice to gypsies who told fortunes by looking at querents' palms and laying out cards. In recent years, cartomancy has become a preoccupation of New Age enthusiasts and many decks have been published and used to serve as game tools or, more seriously, as materials for esoteric studies.
