Abstract:

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted businesses, highlighting the need to assess factors that contribute to resilience and adaptation for recovery. This study examines the key factors influencing the resilience and adaptation of tourism establishments in Tagaytay City during the new normal. The methodology includes weighted means to assess the psychographic profile of employees and the contributing factors to resilience and adaptation, while Spearman’s Rho was used to determine relationships between these factors. Findings indicate that competitiveness, flexibility, and optimism contribute to the resilience of the tourism industry, while the creation of new strategies, enhancement of safety measures, and restoration of attractions support adaptation. Additionally, results show a relationship between employees' psychographic profiles and adaptation factors, as well as a correlation between resilience and adaptation factors. A coping mechanism plan was developed to assist establishments still struggling with the effects of COVID-19, helping them strengthen their adaptability and resilience.
