Exploring price range for hotel room rates on online distribution channels: The case of Hong Kong

Abstract:

Using data collected from two major international online distribution channels, this paper presents the findings of an innovative approach that examines the price range among selected distribution channels for 3-, 4-, and 5-star hotels in Hong Kong. The contributions of this study to the hospitality literature and industry professionals are threefold. First, employing an exploratory design, this study uncovers the hotel range information price through online distribution channels for different rating categories. star Second, the study explores the functions of price range information. Third, it explores the potential applications of price range in the hotel industry. This paper would be of interest to the readers who would like to know more about the pricing strategies in terms of price range.
