Tourism destination cross sector network building in a bottom-up approach

Abstract:
Network approach is becoming important in destinations
management. However, there exist few empirical studies that explore
the potentialities of cross sector networks in order to promote local
destinations in developing countries. By way of a case study this
paper analyzes the pre-existent conditions that promote or inhibit
network building in a bottom-up approach. At the same time, the
findings suggest the suitability of associating a quality mark to the
network. Finally, it discuses the suitable cluster size remarking the
offer perspective, and takes account of the weak public partnership in
the process.
