Abstract:
The use of technology in the delivery of education has been the current trend since the advent of the Industrial Revolution. It has upscaled in its utilization with the occurrence of COVID-19. It has remained as part of the modern educational system even after the pandemic when the traditional face-to-face has been re-introduced. This scenario has posed challenges to teachers, educational institutions, and students. In connection, this study aims to find out the technical and technological skills of the faculty, the difficulties they encounter, and the organizational support they receive for the effective delivery of instructions. The study made use of a self-assessment survey administered among 118 full-time faculty members of a University in the Northern Philippines. Results showed that the faculty have very good technological skills and commonly encountered difficulties in both personal and technological aspects. The faculty also received organizational support, especially in terms of training and expert help when needed. There was a correlation between the organizational, and technological supports with the technological difficulties encountered by the faculty. It was concluded that the faculty could provide optimum delivery of education because of their very good technological skills and ability to overcome difficulties with the organizational support they received.
