Abstract:

This study examined elementary teachers’ perceptions of pupils’ readiness for the MATATAG Curriculum in Cabarroguis District, Schools Division of Quirino, during the second semester of SY 2024–2025. It assessed readiness in terms of information, media, and technology skills, as well as life and career skills, and explored variations in perception based on teachers’ demographic and professional profiles. Using a descriptivecomparative design, data were gathered from 64 teachers through stratified random sampling and analyzed with descriptive statistics and t-tests. Teachers generally perceived pupils as ready, particularly in multimediarelated tasks, though continued supervision was needed. Pupils also exhibited respect, perseverance, and social responsibility, but showed limited independence and emergency preparedness. Significant differences in perceptions emerged in areas such as peer modeling, engagement, and disaster readiness based on teacher profiles. The findings highlight the need to foster pupil autonomy and strengthen character education alongside digital literacy for effective curriculum implementation.
