Discipline: Education
Abstract:
This study determined the teaching strategies and performance of teachers in Naawan District, School Year 2023 -
2024. The respondents were the teachers from Naawan District, with an actual sample number of 161 respondents out
of 223 total number of teachers. The study utilized the descriptive-correlational research design to describe and test
the significant relationship between the respondents’ performance, demographic profile, and teaching strategies; and
which variable best predicts the dependent variable. The results revealed that most of the teachers at Naawan District,
Division of Misamis Oriental, had a family monthly net income ranging from 15,000.00 and above; BSED/BEED,
teacher I with the length of service from 10 years and above, with an outstanding performance rating, and attended 5
and below seminars/trainings organized by the DepEd and other agencies. In teaching strategies, in terms of
cooperative learning, demonstration, deductive approach, inductive approach, integrative approach, lecture type, and
repetitive exercise; all got a descriptive rating of “always”. Further, in correlation, the null hypothesis, which states
no significant relationship between the respondents’ teaching performance, demographic profile, and teaching
strategies, was not rejected. Furthermore, the regression analysis is not significant, with an F-value of 0.338 with a
corresponding p-value of 0.981. Therefore, the null hypothesis stating that “there is no variable singly or in
combination that best predicts respondents’ performance” was not rejected.
