Discipline: Psychology and Health

Abstract:

This study explores the moderating role of age on burnout and quality of work life among mental health professionals providing direct psychosocial services to the vulnerable sectors admitted in the government-run residential care facilities within the megacities in the Philippines. Using a cross-sectional explanatory research design, the study examines the relationships between burnout levels and quality of work life with age as a moderator. The predictive analysis confirms that quality of work life is a significant determinant of burnout, while age does not moderate this relationship significantly. The findings provide a foundation for workplace intervention programs focused on workload management, emotional resilience, career progression, and workplace recognition, tailored to diverse age demographics to mitigate burnout and enhance the quality of work life.
