Maricel Chuenta | Jose Jurel M. Nuevo

Discipline: Cultural Studies

Abstract:

The researcher aimed to determine whether Thai School Culture and the Leadership Style of the School Heads somehow identify the degree of relationship to the learners' learning ability to obtain a good learning environment. In Thai schools, the school heads ensure that the members of the faculties obtain a good working relationship with one another to build an effective rapport. Possessing a positive school culture that would benefit the students is the main goal of each leader. Leadership is an important aspect of managing the members of an organization. Meanwhile, a leader may practice leadership styles in a unique way that would benefit the followers. Both Thai school culture and Leadership style are important to achieve the goals. A total of 100 secondary teachers and school heads from four (4) secondary schools in Amphur Mueang Samut Prakan were randomly chosen. An accepted survey questionnaire was utilized as the tool. Based on the data, the study found that, aside from equality, which they said was very beneficial, instructors typically thought their school had a respectable culture. The study's findings showed that among instructors, administrative abilities, equality, flexibility, communications environment, image, involvement, policies and programs, and values were quite common. The importance of understanding Thai culture was emphasized by these components of the school's culture, which may affect how effectively learners learn. Consequently, it was established that the school's atmosphere is conducive to learning and that Thai culture may be learned by the students there. Encouraging a favorable school climate will provide children with a wonderful setting to learn about Thai culture and customs.
