Testing the Dependability of Results Generated from Kouzes and Posner Leadership Practices Inventory

Charlie Carvajal

Discipline: Education

Abstract:

The primary goal of my research is to test the dependability of results generated from Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) of Kouzes and Posner when cross-examined with qualitative data particularly the observations, document analysis, and interview. School heads, master teachers, teachers, and non-teaching school personnel from three (3) schools in Polomolok District 2, Division of South Cotabato, took part in this study. I used a mixed convergent research, where this allowed the quantitative method to be compared to qualitative methods to assess the dependability by the use of meta-inference. It prevailed that the generated quantitative results in school 1 and school 2 were found dependent with the qualitative results. Conversely, in school 3, a contrast between quantitative and qualitative results was revealed. Overall, by the use of meta-inference, the quantitative results were generally dependent when compared to the qualitative results in the view of democratic landslide. By rigorously testing the dependability of Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) results, I contributed to validate and improve leadership assessment, guaranteeing that this LPI instrument offers reliability when used in multiple research methodologies. It is recommended that longer time frames may use for future research, utilizing quantitative methods such as statistical reliability testing to monitor leadership development across time.
