Discipline: Education
Abstract:
This qualitative phenomenological study was designed to explore the experiences of school heads on their supervisory
practices, their challenges, and their implication for quality education. The data were gathered from five school heads
through one-on-one interviews. Three themes emerged from the responses of school heads on the supervisory practices
they implemented: Employee Supervision, Instructional Leadership, and Administrative Management. Furthermore,
three themes were identified as significant challenges: Complex Employee Dynamics, Participatory Barriers to
Supervisory Practices, and Difficulty in Administrative Management. This study recommends that the supervisors and
school administrators may monitor and evaluate the supervisory practices through constructive feedback. They may
also create plans to support teachers in identifying their strengths and areas for improvement.
