Ethnoarcheological Perspectives of Pottery Making in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte

Abstract:

Pottery presents excellent materials for archeological understanding since it has become one of the most important and highly interesting artifacts for archeologists and prehistorians to study. This paper attempts to describe in detail the processes involved in a pottery industry and some of its unique manufacturing techniques in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte. Thus, ethnoarcheological insights behind the manufacture, sale and relative wide distribution of the pots in and around the nearby towns and provinces of the IIocos Norte region are gleaned from this study.
