Abstract:

To promote sustainable living, new methods are needed to solve environmental problems such as lack of awareness. In line with this need, the capstone project offers “EnviroMinder,” a mobile application that aptly utilizes engagement, education, and entertainment to enhance recycling consciousness and eco-friendly behaviors. The program operates on a Firebase flexible backend, powered by the cross-platform framework Flutter. It has an environment conducive for young audience use due to its user interface that is user-friendly. Further, while the researchers seek to develop awareness in its users and encourage sustainable practices, the application is especially directed at children by using gamified components and educational content adjusted to children’s age. EnviroMinder aims to turn environmental education into an accessible and fun activity for children, teaching a sense of responsibility for the world through games, interactive content, and appealing visuals from an early age. By making sustainability engaging and interactive, EnviroMinder strives to empower the next generation with the knowledge and motivation to become stewards of our planet.
