Discipline: Education

Abstract:

This tracer study examined the employment outcomes, motivations, and competencies of Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) graduates from Mindoro State University from 2015 to 2024. Using a descriptive research design, the study analyzed graduates’ profiles, licensure examination performance, reasons for job acceptance and retention, and the relevance of acquired skills in the workplace. Results revealed that most graduates are employed in education-related positions within the country, with communication and human relations skills identified as most valuable in their jobs. Financial stability, degree relevance, and career advancement were key factors influencing job decisions. Unemployment was primarily attributed to pursuing further studies, family responsibilities, and limited local opportunities. The findings highlight the effectiveness of the BEEd curriculum in preparing graduates for teaching roles and underscore the need for enhanced support in licensure preparation, advanced studies, and career development to address regional employment challenges and improve graduate outcomes.
