Discipline: Literature, Humanities
A restless spirit, a visit to two wise women, and a vision of future trees.
Good day to everyone. Maayong buntag kaninyong tanan.
The invitation I received for today's session on "The Environment and the Humanities" can be interpreted as a proposition that we conjure two metaphoric giants, each one holding a world of discourse which historically have spun separate srories about our contrariness as earthlings. One of these giants is allegedly male, holding the world of scientific and environmental discourse in his right armpit. The other giant is reportedly a left-handed female, gazing at the world-of-discourse constructed by the humanities and the arts.
