Abstract:

This study examined the impact of the Career Guidance Program at Tomas V. Rivera National High School on senior high school students’ career decision-making and transition. Grounded in career development theory, the study explored how structured career guidance initiatives support students in making informed career choices and preparing for future career pathways. A survey was administered to senior high school students who participated in the Career Guidance Program to assess their perceptions of its effectiveness. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were conducted to determine the program’s influence on students' confidence, career clarity, and preparedness for postsecondary transitions. Findings indicated that the Career Guidance Program had a significant positive effect on students’ career decision-making and transition readiness. Participants reported increased self-awareness, motivation, and a clearer understanding of career options. Additionally, the program enhanced students’ confidence in their abilities and provided essential knowledge and skills necessary for informed career planning. The results underscore the importance of structured career guidance programs in secondary education. Strengthening such initiatives through additional resources, enhanced counseling services, and practical career exposure opportunities is recommended to further support students' successful career transitions.
