Abstract:

This study investigates how some Filipino women fits into their role as second wives or madrastas (stepmothers) then cope with situations attendant to these roles toward developing enduring relationships with the husband and his children.

The study hypothesizes that it is the second wife’s character, internal dynamism and long periods of adjustment to her different roles which breaks or ensures better relationships between her and her new family.
