Abstract:

COVID-19 has continuously infected people of all ages, with kids being the most vulnerable sectors of society. The country had taken steps and adopted safety protocols to prevent its spread, but despite these efforts, vaccine hesitancy remains to be a big challenge. This study aims to produce multimedia materials that inform families about vaccination and interventions to promote vaccine confidence. The multimedia project consists of an illustrated booklet, infographic video, and parent’s guide kit for kids that consists of a children’s short storybook and activity booklet written in Filipino and English. The illustrated booklet is a summative guide to recent data about the COVID-19 vaccine. The infographic video is the audio-visual counterpart of the illustrated booklet. The parent’s guide kit for kids is a reading material that families can use as an encouragement, learning, and ‘bonding’ material to their kids. The marketing materials are composed of publishing materials for social media and a 16-seconder video teaser that contains a sneak preview of the multimedia outputs. To measure the effectiveness of these multimedia outputs, 15 respondents were surveyed. Results revealed that all multimedia outputs are outstanding in terms of attractiveness, comprehensibility, persuasiveness, self- involvement and acceptability. In collaboration with Calamba City Health department, the materials were published on the city’s official Facebook page
