Ang Pagsulong ng St. Mary the Virgin Church sa Sagada, Mt. Province: Isang Sosyolohikal na Pagsusuri

Abstrak:

Tinatalakay sa pananaliksik na ito ang pag-usbong, pagpapatuloy at transpormasyon ng mga institusyon. Sumentro ang pag-aaral na ito sa paglago at pagdebelop ng relihiyosong institusyong Simbahang Episkopal sa Pilipinas, partikular na ang St. Mary the Virgin Church sa Sagada, Mt. Province gamit ang case study method. Sinuri ito sa pamamagitan ng konsepto ng translation o pagsasalin sa New Institutionalism na nagpapakita ng proseso kung saan ang mga institusyon ay nalilikha, napananatili, at nagbabago. Napag-alamang sa kabila ng pinagugatang kolonyal, ang mga institusyon ng St. Mary the Virgin Church ay hindi nahomohenisa dahil sa estratehiya na ginamit ng organisasyon bilang tugon sa malakas na pagtutol mula sa katutubong relihiyon ng Sagada na may kinalaman sa norms ng grupo. Gayon din, bilang tugon sa ilang dekadang presensya ng Simbahang Episkopal, ang mga katutubo ng Sagada ay gumamit din ng ilang mg estratehiya upang tanggapin ang mga alituntunin ng simbahan nang sa gayon ay maharap ang mga pagbabagong itinakda sa kanila ng estado na siyang nagsagawa ng mga pagbabago sa norms kaugnay ng kanilang katutubong relihiyon.
