Task-Based E-Learning Module For Korean Language Beginners

Josefine Mangaoang

Discipline: Education

Abstract:

This study aimed to develop and evaluate a task-based e-learning module for Korean Language beginners to address an instructional materials gap in the College. Quantitative and qualitative data were gathered simultaneously using a 2-part 4-point Likert scale survey questionnaire which was administered to two groups of respondents (n=5, Korean Language Teachers; n=5, MPC Language Instructors). Results showed that the emodule was a very highly acceptable learning material in developing basic Korean language skills among beginning learners as evidenced by the grand weighted means of 3.97 (Korean Language teachers) and 3.78 (College Language Instructors). No significant difference between the evaluations of the two groups of respondents were inferred from the tcomputed values ranging from 0.632 to 1.200 which are all lower than the critical value of 2.306 at 5% level of significance and 8 degrees of freedom. Overall, the emodule may be utilized by students taking Foreign Language Basic Korean.
