Abstract:
This comprehensive feasibility study examines the establishment of a manufacturing enterprise specializing in pavement blocks integrated with recycled plastic materials in Surallah, South Cotabato. The initiative addresses critical environmental challenges, particularly the escalating plastic waste crisis, by transforming discarded plastic materials into durable construction products. The project is strategically aligned with Republic Act 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management Act) and the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) law of 2023, creating synergy between ecological preservation and economic development goals.
Comprehensive market research demonstrates consistent demand for innovative paving materials driven by expanding construction and landscaping sectors. The proposed sustainable production methodology integrates shredded plastic waste with traditional cement and sand materials, creating superior construction blocks with enhanced durability characteristics. Financial projections indicate robust return on investment potential, with breakeven analysis projecting profitability within a three-year operational period. The study conclusively establishes that this venture represents a viable business opportunity that simultaneously delivers social, environmental, and financial benefits to the regional community while contributing to national sustainability objectives.
