Abstract:

The site of aromatization and estrogen actions in the testes of the wild boar were investigated by immunolocalizaton of cytochrome P450 aromatase (P450arom) and estrogen receptors (ERα and ERβ). Based on the present result, aromatization occurs in the interstitial cells in the testes of wild boar. Moreover, estrogen action is mediated by two estrogen receptors. ERα and ERβ. Estrogen receptors α and β were localized m the interstitial cells of testes, suggesting an autocrine and paracrine action in this organ.
