Monodontella giraffae Yorke & Maplestone, 1926 is reported from the liver of island-born Giraffa reticulate de Winton, 1899 in Calauit Island, Philippines. This is a case of an introduced parasite through the importation of infected parent stocks into Calauit, Philippines from Kenya. Since the species does not recquire an intermediate host and the condition in the area favored the development of its exogenous stages, the parasite may have survived and flourished in the island infecting island born giraffes.
