Characterization Of Soil Extracted From Paenaan, Rizal

Ryan Cuarto

Discipline: environmental sciences

Abstract:

The soil layer of the earth’s crust is used in different purposes such as food production, storage, and filtration. However, these functions require certain soil properties, and these may vary in each sample of soil depending on its location, climate, and activity. This study characterized and analyzed soil samples from Paenaan, Rizal. Results showed that the soil sample has acidic conditions with pH of 6.30 and has conductivity of 39.2. Soil profile revealed that it is a sandy loam type with moisture content of 3.83%. This determined that the type of soil in Paenaan, Rizal is not suitable for plants that requires huge quantity of water and nutrients for these cannot be held onto this type of soil.
