This study investigates the effectiveness of Experiential Home Caregivers Trainings (EHCT) in enhancing the childrearing attitude of non-maternal caregivers. The study uses a quasi-experimental design, specifically a non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The respondents were 57 non-maternal caregivers
of preschoolers enrolled in semi-private and private schools during the School Year 2008-2009. The experimental group attended the EHCT while the control group received no intervention. Respondents completed the pretest and posttest measures using the AAPI-2. Findings reveal the positive effect of Experiential Home Caregivers Training in enhancing the childrearing attitude of non-maternal caregivers. The respondents’ scores in the AAPI-2 increased after attending the EHCT modules on discovering preschool milestone, developing empathy, setting limits and managing the self. On the other hand, the EHCT module on instilling freedom and autonomy did not significantly increase the non-maternal caregivers’ childrearing attitude on valuing children’s freedom and
