Nationalism and Christianity in the Philippines

Abstract:

This book, originally a doctoral dissertation at the Boston University Graduate School, focuses attention on this problem in the Philippines, where the author has served as missionary and pastor. and is presently a professor at the Union Theological Seminary in Cavite.  Covering mainly the period from 1899, when the first Protestant missionary work began, to the present. a period which also saw the establishment of the Philippine Independent Church, the book gives the early years of the first Catholic missionaries as background.
