Abstract:

The study aimed to increase the efficiency of the boiler used by CCBPI in generating steam by reducing the fuel consumption. This objective was intended to be attained through the following specific objectives: propose alternative solutions to increase the efficiency of the boiler and reduce the consumption fuel; determine the cost that the client-company needs to invest in implementing the proposed solutions; and estimate the amount of time for the company to regain investment on the proposed solution.

The study only considered the improvement of boiler no. 1’s efficiency. The study was limited in proposing the most feasible solution to the client-company’s problem; hence, the design of the sets of equipment was not at all covered in the study. The designs are still dependent on its manufacturer.

The study recommended that the company should provide the necessary accessories to the specified boiler. To reduce fuel consumption, the company should install heat recovery unit or economizer to the boiler.
