Development, Energy, and National Survival

Andrew Gonzales

Discipline: Social Science

Abstract:

This volume contains eleven selected speeches of Geronimo Z. Velasco, Minister of Energy, on various occasions. The topics range from development and social transformation to various aspects of the energy crisis and its management and dimensions of the energy problem. They are unified by the author's attempts to make his public aware of the history and aspects of the energy crisis and the creative solutions that the New Society has taken in coping with this world-wide problem - which began in 1973 and has continued to the present. Most significant is the speech on forward planning and ASEAN energy investment opportunities.
