Film and History

Nicanor G. Tiongson

Discipline: History, Film

Abstract:

Since film has risen as the most popular and the most effective mass medium in the country today, critics have rightly enough lavished their attention on it. Cineastes and art critics have analyzed the Filipino film in its technical and artistic aspects, while sociologists and psychologists have scrutinized its content, point of view, and value systems. Finally, literary critics have shown the relationship between film and the other arts, especially literature.
