FIFTY YEARS OF PHILIPPINE PROGRESS A Study in the Making of a New Nation

Eufronio M. Alip

Discipline: History

Abstract:

This is the story of the making of a new nation-the Republic of the Philippines. This is the story of how an Oriental people, with an Oriental geographic setting and an Oriental traditional heritage, came in close contact with the peoples of the West, especially with the Americans during the last fifty years, and made such a tremendous progress that the like of which has not been seen nor heard elsewhere under similar circumstances. The great transformation, the great metamorphosis that this country underwent has become the model, the pattern, nay, the ideal of Mother Country-Colony relationship which makes the World look up to and watch.
