Chinese Have Enriched Philippine Culture

Discipline: History

Abstract:

Philippine culture, like love, is a "many-splendored thing." It is a pageantric blending of the East and the West, a colorful cultural mosaic revealing the imprints of many nations, with whom we have had contacts since time immemorial. These contacts with foreign cultures have wrought wondrous changes or accretions in our way of life. And now, after centuries of acculturation, we have come to enjoy a unique civilization which is splendidly flavored with enriching legacies from the East and the West.
