Discipline: History
I am glad of the opportunity afforded me by the journal of Historyto say a few words on the need for continued research in our educationalprogram. This need is especially acute when it pertains to the study of Philippine history, for we must remember that we have to delve intothe long past, hence we have to deal with a vast amount of written recordsaccumulated through centuries; that these records are written in diverselanguages by men who have come from different social environments;and that we have to look for these materials not only in our own archivesbut also in the museums, libraries and archives of other lands.
