Abstract:

There are many things that are unbelievable but true; and there are many things that are unbelievably true but bitter and hurting. Today I shall speak to you of one such thing; namely, Jose Rizal, the Philippine national hero, the "pride of Malay race," the Filipino leader whom one American lady-sociologist compared to Washington and Lincoln combined, but who is virtually unknown outside the Philippines. This is the truth that I discovered during my six months of world tour in search of Rizal. Is this not hurting?
