Abstract:

During the past fifteen years, three Doctrina Christianas have been discovered abroad which purport to have been the first books printed in the Philippines. Yet, the letter of Governor General Gomez Perez Dasmarińas who granted the permit, specifically mentions only two Doctrinas. Which of the trio, then, are the ones referred to by Dasmarińas?
