Abstract:

This study examines and presents the history of a local institution, the Church of Baybay, Leyte, including of necessity the people and the events that shaped and gave rise to the Parish of Baybay, whose Church was the focus and nerve-center of the people's religious, social and economic life during the Spanish colonial period.
