The Barangay Justice System of Barangay Kalusugan, New Manila, Quezon City: An Assessment

Abstract:

This is a descriptive study which assessed the effectiveness of the Barangay Justice System of Barangay Kalusugan, New Manila, Quezon City. One hundred (100) residents who have brought cases for settlement to the Barangay were asked to answer the survey questionnaire. The results revealed that disputes among members of the Barangay have been amicably settled by the Punong Barangay and members of the Lupon through the Barangay Justice System within the period prescribed by law.

 

The members of the Barangay believe that the Barangay Justice System has the capability of resolving conflicts and is effective, thus discouraging them from bringing their cases to the judiciary.
