Some Unpublished Folk Songs of Cavite: An Analysis of their Musical Elements in Relation to Curricular Utility

Abstract:

This study, which is primarily qualitative-descriptive, deals with the collection, analysis, and compilation of thirty-one-unpublished folk songs of Cavite. It employed data gathering through tape recording of folk songs, and interview responses, cross checking, and referrals. The respondents were natives of Cavite, 60 years old and over. The collected unpublished folk songs were classified into lyrical themes.
