Abstract:

This paper presents the case of the writing of the local history of Tangub City in Misamis Occidental. The dynamic local government unit took the initiative to create their own City Historical Commission and passed ordinances to integrate the teaching of local history in all levels of education. The main obstacle, however, in fully implementing these ordinances was the lack of teaching and learning materials for use in the classroom.
