Abstract:

This article was written in the early part of 1947 as data paper contributed by the Philippine Council to the 10th Conference of the Institute of Pacific Relations held in Stratford-on-Avon, England, in September of that year. For the valuable information it gives the students of Philippine History, the author has consented to its publication with slight revisions to supply certain data that were not then available.
