An Analysis of 18th and 19th-Century Philippine-Hispanic Written Forms

Abstract:

The early Filipinos were attracted to the Latin handwriting form that the Spaniards taught. It was practical, precise, and fluid and besides it offered opportunities to express individual artistry. This article also theorizes that economic, political, and cultural conditions influenced styles of Philippine handwritten forms.
