Places like products also possess trademarks. If products have brands and labels, places are likewise given a certain tag or image by the general public.

In the Philippines, every region, province, city, down to the barangay, are also associated with a certain image. These images, are attributed to the physical environment, culture, traditions and even the goods and services uniquely offered by the place.
