The study evaluated the content of teaching modules in Principles of Teaching integrating the National Competency-Based Teacher Standards (NCBTS) for teacher education students. This utilized the descriptive method to gather the needed information from two sets of respondents: the subject experts, represented by faculty members handling the course Principles of Teaching from three accredited teacher education institutions in Quezon, for at least two academic years namely: Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, Southern Luzon State University, and Sacred Heart College. The student-respondents are composed of fourth year pre-service teachers in the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation. Findings revealed that the instructional contents of the teaching modules are very much relevant to the National Competency-Based Teacher Standards. No weak points were found in the proposed teaching modules as far as the relevance of the instructional content is concerned. On a general scale, the respondents strongly agreed on the presence of the positive characteristics in terms of content, language used, and evaluation activities. The specific objectives were found to be the weakest. Moreover, four weak points were observed: that the answer to one item does not furnish or give clue to the answer in another item; the evaluation activities have no definite answer and are not easy to score; and the relevance of the instructional content of the teaching modules to NCBTS which was rated “just right” by the respondents. It is recommended that the teaching modules be subjected to further review by a team of experts in the light of the findings as this will lead to the needed revisions and realignment. Once further developed and improved, it is recommended for use in MSEUF and in other tertiary institutions for a rather innovative approach in teaching of the course. It may also serve as round basis for the production of teaching modules in other professional subjects. Lastly, it is the researcher’s recommendation that another research be conducted this time utilizing the experimental method.
